Bruno: The Protector

The story of his noble act reached the scholars of Antoinerei. They were inspired by his bravery and selflessness so they decided to sponsor his treatment. Using the city’s latest technology, they were able to produce bionic legs for Bruno. When he tried it for the first time, he felt that walking seems like flying. The mecha legs are not just for walking but are powerful enough for combat.

The scholars created an energy ball for him to serve as a weapon partnered with his legs. Out of gratefulness, Bruno vowed to protect the city until his death.  Since that day, whenever a threat from outside tries to harm their city, Bruno is there to launch powerful attacks to drive them away. Because of this, he was given the title “The Protector of the Antoinerei”.

Berserker’s Fury. This powerful second item will boost Bruno’s main asset which is critical damage. Since his passive feature increases his Critical Chance, he can make the most out of this item because it can stack up with its Critical Chance. This item also has a Critical Damage booster on top of its high Physical Attack.

Endless Battle. This third item will help Bruno stay longer in the game because it will practically give him everything to keep him sustained. Aside from the high Physical Attack it gives, he will also get mana regen, HP increase, Physical Lifesteal, cooldown reduction and a slight Movement Speed boost. Its passive feature will make his every Basic Attack more painful after every use of his skills because of its True Damage. This will bypass a large chunk of the target’s defense.

Scarlet Phantom. This is another Critical Hit enhancer because it will further increase his Critical Chance while boosting his Attack Speed. Its passive feature will further increase his Attack Speed and Critical Chance in every successful Critical Hit.

Late Game Items

Malefic Roar. To counter the Physical Defense of his enemies at the late part of the game—this armor-buster is the solution. Aside from its high Physical Attack, it also has a high default Physical Penetration which goes even higher based on the Physical Defense of the target.

Immortality. This final item will bulk up Bruno’s HP and Physical Defense. Its most important feature allows him to get resurrected in case he was eliminated. Upon resurrecting he’ll get a small percentage of his HP but it also comes with a shield. This will keep him protected as he escapes or try to fight back if there’s just one enemy left standing.

Bruno Emblem Set

Our Global Top 1 Bruno player is currently using the Common Physical Emblem set for this hero. This is good news for fairly new players because it means that you can reach Mythical Glory and get to the top spot with just a basic emblem. Let’s explore his configuration to learn what would optimize this emblem for Bruno.

Basic Physical Emblem configured with Vitality, Bravery and Open Fire
Common Physical Emblem configuration for Bruno

For the first feature, he maxed out Vitality to increase Bruno’s HP. This will make Bruno bulkier at the start of the game and give him a better chance to survive or win an early game clash. For the next feature, he maxed out Bravery to increase his Physical Attack. It will be more damaging when randomly turned into Critical Hits.

For the last feature, he selected Open Fire to increase his damage by a small percentage when using his skills. Even if it’s just a small increase, it gets much higher if it becomes a critical hit.

Battle Spell

Retribution. Since our Global Top 1 player is using Bruno as a core hero, it’s a must that you should use retribution because you’ll be farming in the jungle and getting all of the buffs. Retribution will reduce the damage you’ll get from the jungle monsters while increasing the reward you get from them.

Inspire. Since Bruno already has a blink ability, boosting his Attack Speed while bypassing the target’s defense with this battle spell would be the best choice for him. You can use this spell if you’re not using Bruno as the core hero.

Bruno Gameplay

Skill Upgrade Priority

Volley Shot. Prioritize upgrading his first skill because it will significantly boost the damage of his Basic Attacks every time it’s empowered by his Powerball.

Bruno’s Ultimate Skill: Wave of the World

Wave of the World. Always upgrade his ultimate skill the moment it’s available because of its undeniable power and usefulness during team fights.

Flying Tackle. Since this is used mostly for escaping and doesn’t really deal a lot of damage, you don’t have to prioritize its upgrade.

Bruno Combo

First Combo:
First Skill + Basic Attacks + Second Skill + Basic Attacks
This is one of the recommended combos before unlocking your ultimate skill. Start by empowering his Basic Attacks using his first skill and then use the second skill to either chase the enemy if you have the upper hand or escape if you’re in a bad situation. You can also use it to stun your enemy to give you an advantage if your fight seems a tie.

Second Combo:
Ultimate Skill + First Skill + Basic Attacks + Second Skill + Basic Attacks
The moment a clash erupts, quickly run towards it and use your ultimate skill to damage several enemies. Immediately follow it up with your empowered Basic Attacks and then dash away if an enemy decides to shift its attack towards you.

Third Combo:
First Skill + Basic Attacks + Ultimate Skill + Second Skill + Basic Attacks
This combo is ideal to use if you’re dealing with one enemy and then another one comes to help it. Use the second skill to back away if the situation gets rough.

These are just some of the example combos you can use for Bruno. The sequence of the skills will always depend on what situation you’re in.

Fighting Strategy

Poke. Start the game by harassing your enemy with your Powerball and then dash back if it tries to attack back. If its HP is low already, stun with your second skill and then use inspire to try finishing it off. It may survive your attacks but it will end up going back to the base to heal.

Farm. As a marksman hero, Bruno has higher dependence on items so try to earn more gold at every opportunity possible through farming. Use the time your enemy is gone to kill the crab and minions. This will help you earn gold faster and have an item and a level gap against it.

Teamplay

Gank. Hunting with your allies in the jungle gives Bruno a big advantage. His ultimate skill Energy Ball will have fewer enemies to bounce on because of the absence of minions. Using it on the enemy core hero while attacking a jungle monster will make your Energy Ball bounce on two targets only and deal greater damage.

Team Fight. While it’s tempting to use the second skill to quickly jump into the clash, it’s best reserved for escaping or chasing. The better approach is to wait for the clash to start and just quickly rush in to unleash your Energy Ball. Aside from damaging your enemies, it will also weaken their defense which is a great advantage for your team. If an enemy shifts its focus to attack you instead, that’s when you use the second skill to avoid it. Just run back again to help if your attacker decides to dive back into the group battle again.

Core. If you’re using Bruno as a core hero, start by farming in the jungle and getting all of the buffs. Help a nearby ally the moment you’re empowered by the buffs before farming again. Always look for an opportunity to kill or steal the Turtle. Avoid letting the enemies get it as much as you can because it will help your entire team level up.
